Fitness : A Reason behind having Higher IQ

When i was in school, and even in my office,I always had come to know about some people who are having Higher IQ's than others.

You will also had observed about, that some people are brilliant with their IQ. If you will observe than you will find that All the men who are having higher IQ, will have one thing in common is that they all are being Very Fit, and mentally strong.

Fitness has a key role to play behind your IQ.
People who are Fit, has been reported as a Higher IQ level than the normal human beings.

Carried out at the Sahlgrenska Academy and Sahlgrenska University Hospital, the study’s results were published in the prestigious Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS).

The study involved 1.2 million Swedish men doing military service who were born between 1950 and 1976. The research group analysed the results of both physical and IQ tests when the men enrolled.

The study shows a clear link between good physical fitness and better results for the IQ test. The strongest links are for logical thinking and verbal comprehension. But it is only fitness that plays a role in the results for the IQ test, and not strength.

"Being fit means that you also have good heart and lung capacity and that your brain gets plenty of oxygen," says Michael Nilsson, professor at the Sahlgrenska Academy and chief physician at the Sahlgrenska University Hospital.

The expert added: "This may be one of the reasons why we can see a clear link with fitness, but not with muscular strength. We are also seeing that there are growth factors that are important."

By analysing data for twins the researchers have been able to determine that it is primarily environmental factors and not genes that explain the link between fitness and a higher IQ.

"We have also shown that those youngsters who improve their physical fitness between the ages of 15 and 18 increase their cognitive performance," says Maria Åberg, researcher at the Sahlgrenska Academy and physician at Åby health centre.

The expert added: "This being the case, physical education is a subject that has an important place in schools, and is an absolute must if we want to do well in mathematics and other theoretical subjects."

The researchers have also compared the results from fitness tests during national service with the socio-economic status of the men later in life. Those who were fit at 18 were more likely to go into higher education, and many secured more qualified jobs.

Be Active and Stay Fit

Fitness is must and we all want to remain fit throughout our life. We take various medications to remain fit, but fail and we fall ill. The best way to remain fit is to stay active. Yes, it has been proved through various research studies that people who are active never face any health problems. If you keep your body active then there are very less chances that you will fall ill. Physical activity for about 30 minutes and mental activity for about 10 minutes in enough to remain fit. You need to understand that just by eating healthy you can’t stay fit and fine. To regulate the health you also need to put in little more efforts. Fitness is what every one requires, but everybody feels it is very difficult to achieve it. But, I would like to make you aware that fitness in very easy to achieve.

The best way to stay active is to clean your house on your own, and that also daily. Yes, you would be surprised to know that it is noted in the study that people who clean their house daily have a very good health in comparison to other people who have hired servants for this. Cleaning house both strength as well as strengthening activities. This helps makes your bones stronger and increases the flexibility. Even the gardening activity is of great help to perform physical activity to maintain fitness.

Staying active is the best fitness mantra. You can achieve the optimum fitness level by indulging in different activities in a day. One of the best activities that we all can do and get the tremendous health benefits is to walk more. You need to walk daily for about 15 to 20 minutes in order to remain fit. You must be thinking that you need to daily invest about half an hour for this and it is nearly impossible. But, my dear friends I would like to make it clear that you don’t have to spend this much specific time for this thing. You can certainly do this by walking to office daily if your office is at walk able distance. In office make it a point to get up from your place after every 2 hours and make it a routine to go for a brisk walk of about 10 minutes during the lunch break.

I do understand that we no longer are fit enough to do the physical activity during the busy routine life. But it is a necessity otherwise we may suffer with the variety of the abnormal health conditions. You can certain note the changes once you start getting involved in the physical activity. By increasing the indulgence in the physical activity, it has been observed that heart problems of the people are solved. It also helps the people to strengthen the muscles and bones to stay stronger. The occurrence of the osteoporosis is also noted is very rare among the people who indulge in the physical activity regularly.

Along with the physical activity it is also very necessary to maintain the mental health. For maintaining the mental activity, I would best suggest you to practice the meditation because it helps to give you the mental peace and stability. You feel relaxed by the meditation and disease like depression and anxiety doesn’t affect you much. Another way to keep your mind in good condition is to avoid stress. You must also take a time to feel yourself relaxed. In fact a good amount of sleep can also help you to maintain your mental health at its best. So, I would suggest everyone to stay active to remain fit.

Chocolates Acts as "Anti – Depressants"

In a Recent study made by AUSTRALIAN scientists, about the Chocolates, and they had Confirmed that Chocolates works like as anti – depressants.

Food rich in fat and sugar can alter chemical composition in the brain to reduce anxiety, professor Margaret Morris said.

In a study of rats, Professor Morris, from the University of NSW's School of Medical Sciences, found effects of past trauma could be erased by "unlimited access to yummy food".

"Implementing that diet reversed anxiety ... it took an animal back to the non-stressed state," Professor Morris said.

"We really don't know why, but there seems to be a biochemical link."

Using two groups of baby rats, one with normal contact with mothers, the other with lengthy separations and higher stress hormones, scientists found they became less stressed with comfort foods.

"The control group had no effect from the diet really, but the stressed animals had a deficit ... which was restored by the diet."

"(The) food seems to affect neurogenesis similar to the way anti-depressants promote nerve growth in the brain."
